Payment Issue

Good day I am currently under debt review but will be paid up end Jan 2018. My consultant stopped paying one of my debtors in 2016, because they fought the account was paid up. I did not received info that this account was not settled in full and the consultant claimed that they were also not informed. Account was handed over to attorneys, who contacted me.  I referred them immediately to the consultant. Now the consultant told me that I need to pay the account with the attorneys(which now included extra fees and interest) Is this the correct way of handling this issue?
