If I am married in COP, does my husband’s accounts also have to go under debt review if his accounts are up to date?

Hi there,

Thank you for the question.

You will have to apply for debt review together.

When you’re married COP you only have one estate. This is the case with debt as well. The both of you are deemed as one person, and you cannot act independently irrespective of who signed for what.

Thus if you’re married COP it will be a joint application, and all the debt will be thrown into one pool. Your income will also be joined in the calculations. And the payment of all your debt will begin jointly through one single instalment.

Hope the information was useful.
