Clearing Name

I have paid my outstanding but my name is still not cleared, I asked my service provider (the store I had an account with) to clear my name. They said they have sent a request to the credit bureau about 7 weeks ago. Still no reply.

Thank you for getting in touch.
According to the National Credit Act the credit bureaus will have to remove adverse information and judgement listings from a consumer’s credit profile, if the amount owed has been settled. The retention period for default listings has now been reduced to 12 months.
If you have reached your retention period and the information is still listed we would suggest you lodge a dispute with the company where you pulled your credit report.
